The Council of Ministers has determined the market revenue cap for RES producers without contract for compensation with premiums until Dec 31, 2023

On 30.08.2023, the Council of Ministers adopted a Decision on the calculation of the market revenue cap for renewable energy producers with installed capacity of above 1 MW without a contract for compensation with premiums.

It should be recalled that with the adoption of the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2023, the payment of earmarked contributions by energy enterprises and RES producers to the Electricity System Security Fund was extended until the end of 2023.

According to the Decision of the Council of Ministers, renewable energy producers without a contract for compensation with premiums will set their market revenue cap at BGN 300/MWh of the value of electricity produced. Above this cap, producers owe contributions to the Electricity System Security Fund, which provides the necessary financial resources to cope with the effects of high energy prices.
