The website of ESO EAD offers a special electronic platform for registration and review of the current procedures for connection of the newly built renewable energy capacities. ESO introduces the information portal in compliance with the recent changes in the Renewable Energy Act. The aim of the functionality under development is to ease the administrative burden and shorten the timeframes for the connection of renewable energy installations. ESO also envisage to provide investors and distribution network operators with an accessible electronic form to carry out electronically all the necessary actions related to the connections.
In response to the provisions of Article 28, paragraph 5 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act for the administrative servicing of the investment process for the construction of energy facilities for the production of electricity from renewable sources, promulgated on 13th of October 2023, the Electricity System Operator has developed the electronic register, available on the official website of ESO EAD - www.eso.bg for investors in newly built renewable energy facilities and all interested parties.
In the dedicated section "Connection" - ESO.BG - Electricity System Operator, investors in energy facilities for the production of electricity from renewable sources can personally or through an authorized person to register on the electronic platform by filling in a template form, signed with a qualified electronic signature.
The electronic register on the official website of ESO EAD is planned to keep up-to-date information on the submitted applications for connection of renewable energy capacities to the electricity grid. The register offers publicly accessible and detailed information on the requested and authorised capacity, the date of submission of the application, its legal eligibility as well as the decisions on the respective investment application for connection.
The information portal has also been developed to support a special section for registration and submission of applications related to all procedures for connection to the electricity grid, as well as the possibility to apply for connection under a temporary access scheme - https://www.eso.bg/doc/?542.
